Kate Lansdell2024 – The Power Within Training

The ESP Group

June

My Successful Outcome:

Reflecting on this year I have carved out a place for the Special Projects team that ensures it adds value to the wider
department and more broadly in the organisation. Our expertise is sought by other business units to support their
initiatives. I have sharped my leadership skills and am growing a high-performing, self motivated team who are
working to a common vision. I have increased my own self awareness of the value I bring to the team and wider
organisation and ensure that I recognise this in others. I am proud of the impact that the team is making, and am
excited for what comes next.

My Values:

  • Integrity It is important as it aligns expectations, all playing from the same rule book and treating all fairly in alignment with a core set of principles.
  • Growth I believe in life-long learning - every day there is an opportunity to learn something new, discover something and expand knowledge. Also seeing this in others.
  • Respect I don't expect to like everyone or be liked. However if you treat others as you would like to be treated this tends to go a long way to good relationships with a lot of people based upon areas of mutual respect and understanding.
  • Happiness It is important to me to be happy and to try and create an opportunity for others to find happiness. Happiness can engender positivity and can be found in sometimes the most mundane or small things.
  • Teamwork Collaboration to achieve aims and goals, the mutual support you find in a team, and the collective learning.

My Guiding Principles:

  • Define process improvements that will be beneficial for the wider department or organisation
  • Support individuals in their career aspirations through constructive development planning and coaching
  • Ensure that I have personal and team goals in place

My New Beliefs:

  • I have great systems and process knowledge and leverage this to good effect to support process and continuous development. I continue to learn about the tools available and look for opportunities to use new tools to improve processes.
  • If I set my mind to a problem I can learn alternative ways to tackle it and find creative solutions within the boundaries that I work in.
  • I am focused on individuals and the team and want to see them achieve their full potential. A strong team can be a challenge as a manager but also helps stretch my abilities in order to keep up.

My 12-month Coaching Commitment Statement:

I commit to actively engage in my personal and professional development and growth over the coming year and
beyond. I will be 100% committed to the coaching, applying ideas and strategies to my work. I will be open and
honest with my team, and ensure a positive, supportive environment with focus on personal growth whilst delivering
the day to day work. I will maintain a healthy work-life balance to ensure that my current burn out recovery continues
and that I take active steps to avoid the pitfalls that led me there. This will support my professional growth and my
overall wellbeing. I will ensure a focus on my goals in order to stay on track and achieve these.

My 12 month goals

Theme : Business Growth

Annual Goal 1 : Set a vision for my wider team (with the team) and work with my managers to cascade this through my reporting organisation. This will be tied to the business vision and goals, harnessing the culture of continuous improvement to elevate delivery - and increase loyalty scores.

Theme : Business Growth

Annual Goal 2 : Using the skills learnt on the leadership course and leveraging motivational intelligence define a clear remit for the Special Projects team and identify 2 additional projects to be worked on over the next 12 months.

Theme : Personal Growth & Development

Annual Goal 3 : Using my understanding of motivational intelligence and analysis of my current skill set, identify the types of roles that I would like to pursue to take my career onwards and upwards. Once I have a clear direction of travel identify gaps in skills and opportunities to work on these.

Theme : Personal Growth & Development

Annual Goal 4 : Identify a course I would like to take or group that I would like to join and get involved. This could be to expand my skills set in relation to hobbies, or to get to know more people in my neighbourhood. (This could fit under family & friends)

Theme : Health & Wellbeing

Annual Goal 5 : Just do it - find the motivation to get out for a daily walk whatever the weather. Use the Garmin App to set goals for walking (e.g. the quarterly walking challenge)
